CHARITIES FAIR IS A SUCCESS

Friday 10th May 2019

The YPI programme (The Youth Philanthropy Initiative) for S2 aims to raise awareness among young people about their local community. They held a charity fair recently in the school.

As part of the programme, students research social issues in the area and choose a local charity to try and win a £3000 YPI grant for them; the Charities Fair Groups must create a presentation outlining the background of the charity, the work they do to address a specific social issue and, crucially, why they would benefit from the £3000 grant.

It was a very successful morning and afternoon; the S2 students are now excited and ready to work towards winning the grant for some of these charities and both teachers and the charities were very impressed with how polite and engaged our young people were.
