Modern Linguists Mingling at the University St Andrews

Tuesday 26th November 2019

This week, 3 of our Advanced Higher Modern Languages (French  and German) students visited the University of St Andrews for a “meet and mingle” event.

It was an opportunity to find out more about what it is like to study languages and study or work abroad from undergraduate students themselves – teachers were made to leave!

Rachel, Jade and Grace were a credit to Lasswade High School: they embraced the opportunity to ask questions and network, and came away feeling very positive about what languages and the University itself had to offer students like them.

Even better, they bumped into one of Ms  Scott-Larsen’s old professors, who snuck them into a lecture theatre, loaded up his slides, and gave  a private “mini-lecture”! A blast from the past for Ms  Scott-Larsen, and a treat for the girls, especially because we topped it off with a chippy tea on the way home… not a bad day out.

Going  Further With  Modern  Languages !

Mr  Poots,  Principal  Teacher  Modern  Languages  (agrees  that  St  Andrews  is  probably the best  university  in  the  world).
