Monday 12th November 2018
Next week at Lasswade High School it is officially Book Week, as part of the National Book Week Scotland celebrations.
This festival of all things books and reading will run from Monday 19 – Sunday 25 November.
At Lasswade, we will be encouraging students to Drop Everything and Read [DEAR] during registration, giving them the opportunity to savour their favourite book and start their day with some quiet reading.
Meanwhile, some of our register teachers are set to read to their classes to illustrate the joys of storytelling.
There is also a challenge to Decorate Your Door as a book cover or with book covers, with the winner getting a prize.
Elsewhere in Scotland, libraries, workplaces and community halls will also be celebrating the joy of reading. Some of Scotland’s authors and poets will also be involved in the celebrations.
Can’t wait to see some fantastic designs and stories!Tweet  Share on Facebook
