Columba 1400

Friday 26th January 2018

The school was pleased to welcome Liam and Colin in from Columba 1400 on Wednesday for session three with our staff and students who visited Skye last October for their residential experience.  Columba 1400 is a values based leadership organisation that we work with and approximately 20 of our students and staff engage directly with them.

This week students and staff spent an morning with Liam and Colin.  The session focused in a trust activity with staff and students blindfolded and completing a trust activity.  What followed was significant time devoted to planning the service element of the programme the students are working on.  Ideas being developed include sports related activities feeding into our House system and the development of a Nurture space that allows students a supportive area to think and reflect.

All participants also set themselves personal targets relating to their aspirations and involvement in the programme and looked at how they could support each other.
