International Stars

Tuesday 10th September 2019

Congratulations to four Lasswade High School students who were involved in an international Touch Rugby Championships held in August in Paris.  Three students; Kyle McMillan, Todd Wightman and Innes Philp all played in the three day tournament for Scotland across the U15 and U18 age groups.  Gregor Wightman was involved as a referee and also gained his ‘international cap.’

This is a terrific achievement for these students and is a reward for their commitment over months and years to Touch Rugby.

Kyle reported his highlight as setting Todd up for a couple of tries! All the players report the experience as truly memorable with learning evident for future events.

Gregor’s aim in his referee development is potential involvement in a tournament next year in Australia.

These boys will be recognised through our 2020 SPOTY Ceremony and through awarding our ‘International’  Sports Badge.

Well done boys and best wishes as your Touch Rugby development continues.
