Lasswade Lockdown Fundraising

Sunday 13th September 2020

At Lasswade High School, the well-being of families and young people is at the heart of our school community. Together with our Parent Council and S6 School Captains, we decided to raise funds for 3 charitable causes during lockdown:

1. Midlothian Food Bank

2. The Bonnyrigg Community Trust Food Bank

3. Teenage Cancer Trust

Your donations are about to be shared with the 3 charities which will provide local families with food and support to ensure that young people facing cancer receive life-changing care.

Below is a message from last year’s S6 School Captains, who always strived to support the local community by fundraising throughout the school year and also during lockdown.

“Hello from the 2019-2020 School Captains!
We hope you’re all doing well and staying safe. During lockdown the school community managed to raise over £500.00 in donations, which is extremely impressive. As a team, we have decided to donate this money to Teenage Cancer Trust, Midlothian Foodbank and the Bonnyrigg and Sherwood Community Trust. During the height of the pandemic, many charities did not have received the support they require. We really believe in these causes and we thank everyone again for their efforts in raising this money to make an impact on people’s lives.
Best wishes to everyone at Lasswade High School and the local community.
Your School Captains 2019-2020.”
