New DHT Appointment

Thursday 27th June 2019

Congratulations to Mrs Caroline Brown who has been appointed as Depute Head Teacher with principal responsibility for Excellence, Engagement and Equity.  Mrs Brown is currently Principal Teacher Modern Languages at Musselburgh Grammar School where she leads an outstanding curricular team.   She is expected to begin in her new role before our October break.  In the interim Miss Moar will continue to ‘act’ in this role.

Mrs Brown came through a two stage process that involved interviews with a range of school stakeholders.   This week she was interviewed by a panel consisting primarily of members of our Parent Council and Midlothian Councillors.

Mrs Brown in response to the appointment said, ‘I’m am delighted to have come through this process.  I recognise in Lasswade High School a school with a values base,  vibrancy and spirit that makes it an exciting place to learn.  The staff and students I met are fantastic and I’m looking forward to continuing to drive forward improvements that make a positive difference for young people.  I have strong values, rooted in social justice and equity,  and this will be my focus in my new role.’
