Yesterday the Depute First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, Mr John Swinney, updated parliament regarding progress on the reopening of schools in August. This statement followed on from recent scientific advice published on 16/07/10.
In addition to additional funding issued to local authorities, the main aspects of the statement relevant to secondary schools were as follows

All of the above is subject to the prevalence of the virus continuing to be driven down.
The next significant date is Thursday 30th July when we expect detailed Scottish Government Guidance to support the return to school. The DFM will make a statement to parliament on that date confirming the basis on which schools will reopen in August.
