School Recovery 12: FM’s Statement to Parliament

Friday 31st July 2020

Yesterday, the First Minister, Ms Nicola Sturgeon, updated parliament on the reopening of schools in August.   She confirmed that schools across the country are expected to return from Tuesday 11th August.  Our students will return from Wednesday 12th August.

Additional guidance to support the safe return to school was also published on the Scottish Government website.  Our school staff are reviewing this guidance to ensure our plans are compliant with this latest publication.

The Scottish Government guidance referred to in this post covers a number of issues not mentioned in this post.  This is not because they are not important, it reflects issues previously covered in earlier website posts and aiming to ensure our posts are not too long!

We will continue to update our website from next week and our return for students from Wednesday 12th August.

SQA Update

Following a consultation with teachers and lecturers, young people and their parents and carers across Scotland the SQA are currently working on a set of possible changes to National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher courses and exams for 2020-21 to reflect the current situation with Covid-19 and possible disruption to learning and teaching.
