School Recovery 8: August Return

Friday 26th June 2020

The Depute First Minister indicated on Tuesday 23rd June that the Scottish Government’s planning assumption is now to have all students returning to schools 12 August, if it is safe to do so.  He has also indicated that this will be conditional and dependent upon scientific and health advice.  Nevertheless,  this is what we are now working towards.

To help parents/carers plan for our return to school I am sharing with you the following information and requests

We fully accept that some of what we are now telling you contradicts some recent messages communicated, however, as Scottish Government guidelines change we respond.

We do recognise the economic impact of Covid-19 on many families and will be sensitive to the above requests.  Please engage with us if you have concerns around your ability to meet our expectations.  We will continue to seek sensible solutions wherever possible.

Please contact us via the following email regarding issues outlined above: beBrave-staySafe-beBrilliant@mgfl.net

Please access our uniform expectations via the link below, this leaflet has been shared with parent/carers of new S1 students and reinforces the challenges around blazers

School Uniform Leaflet May 2020

Please take care over the summer and be vigilant to our website and social media platforms as we confirm return to school details as soon as we are able to.
