Scottish Youth Parliament Elections

Friday 29th March 2019

Congratulations to Blaine Ferguson, S4, who has been elected as one of two Midlothian representatives for the Youth Parliament.  A total of five candidates received over 2,200 votes in a very strong turnout of 45% of eligible voters with the result announced today Friday) in the Midlothian Council Chambers by Dr Mary Smith.

Blaine was delighted at the result and his work will begin in earnest in June.  We hope that his campaign issues of; Mental Health, Education and Transport.  He has no plans to solve Brexit.  Yet!

Thanks also to Mrs Nicolson and her ‘Democracy Warriors’ who supported the voting process through the school.
