On Friday 28th June, there will be a dress down day in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and the Sick Kids Hospital. The charities supported are identified by the school community at the beginning of each school year to ensure we are fundraising for causes important to those at Lasswade.
The S6 Charities Committee will be at the front doors and playground doors with buckets to collect donations. ParentPay is also open and available, if families would like to donate online. It is not necessary to contribute towards any dress down day.
This will be our final dress down day to mark the end of the school year.

Session 3 Wednesday 7th June ‘My Support’

Our in-school transition programme starts on Wednesday 12th June. Students should arrive in the back playground for 8.50am, for a 9am start. We look forward to having the P7s in the building on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week.
On Friday 31st May, there will be a dress down day in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which supports those living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). MND attacks and damages the nerves leading to loss of muscle mobility and paralysis.
The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by MND. They fund grants and give sums of money to associations who support individuals and families living with MND. If you would like to know more about their work please follow this link.
We have chosen to support this charity at the end of May as one of our first year pupils, Bradan Cowan, is honouring his aunt who is living with MND by walking a marathon around some of her favourite places in Edinburgh on 8th June. At the same time his sister who attends Bonnyrigg Primary will cycle the distance. So far they have raised an impressive amount of almost £5500. You can read more about their story here. Session 2 – ‘My Learning’ Presentation
Our third and final session, ‘My Support’, is taking place on Wednesday 5th June at 6pm on Google Meet. This will be an opportunity to find out more about Student Support, Creative Learning and the Transition Days. You will be able to join using the post on Google Classroom and the existing link.
