Care Experienced Week 2025

This week from 25th October to 1st November, it is Care Experienced Week. At Lasswade High School we are very proud of our care experienced young people and will continue to promote and protect their rights.

Nationally, as you can see on the graphic  below from Who Cares Scotland, this year the focus is Rights.  In PSE classes, we are further drawing attention to the theme of Rights by delivering lessons based on Life at Sea. These lessons explore the threats we faces on life’s journey as well as the opportunities that enable us to thrive, based around the UNCRC.

S5/6 Student Progress Consultation Evening – Tuesday 19th November

On Tuesday 19th November between 4:30pm and 6:30pm the online S5/6 Student Progress Consultation Evening (Parents’ Evening) will be taking place. The system that we use for S1-S6 Parents’ Evenings is called ‘ParentBooking.com’ (see website https://www.parents-booking.co.uk/lasswade).

The booking system opens at 6pm on Sunday 10th November and will close at 10am on Monday 18th November. 

Please note that as we are opening the parents’ booking system on a Sunday evening, our admin staff will not be able to respond to any issues, or respond to any calls until Monday.

All of our Parents’ Evenings are now fully online (video call), so if you have not taken part in an online Parents’ Evening at Lasswade HS before, please read the Parents Booking User Guide ahead of the evening or watch this useful video: Video Meetings Demo, with Troubleshooting.

Each appointment lasts for 4 minutes (on screen timer) with a minute between consecutive appointments. 

If more than one parent/carer wishes to join the video call, the identified ‘main carer’ (person who makes the appointments) must be the person to share the joining details with the other parent/carer.

S5/6 Parents’ Evening Evaluation

Thank you to all parents/carers who booked and attended virtual appointments for our S5/6 Parents’ Evening (Tuesday 21st November). We hope you all had a very positive experience and look forward to communicating with you again in the near future:

S5/6 Parents’ Evening 21 November 2023

On Tuesday 21 November between 5pm and 7pm the online S5/6 Parents’ Evening will be taking place. The system that we use for S1-S6 Parents’ Evenings is called ‘ParentBooking.com’ (see website https://www.parents-booking.co.uk/lasswade).

The booking system opens at 7pm on Sunday 12 November and will close at 10am on Friday 17 November. 

Please note that this is the first time we have opened the booking system in the evening for these 2 year groups, S5 and S6. We are continuing to trial this approach to improve our service for parents/carers who have found accessing the booking system during normal working hours challenging. As a result, please be aware that our admin staff will not be able to respond to any issues, or respond to any communications until Monday morning.

S5/6 Parents’ Evening 17 January 2023

Our staff are looking forward to meeting online with parents/carers of S5 and S6 students for the rescheduled parents’ evening.

Please also check all of your system requirements ahead of time, including that your speakers and microphone work effectively.
