Response to feedback submitted from HT Update week ending 30/05/25.

| I would like to express my concern regarding the limited feedback we have received from the teachers this academic year. As a parent, I find that a single round of feedback during the year is not sufficient to truly understand your child’s progress. It would be much more helpful to receive more comprehensive feedback, especially towards the end of the academic year, so that we as parents can have a clearer picture of our child’s development |
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Reporting is a complicated business, hence we discussed our thinking on this at Parent Council and also I’ve invited comments through the last update; click here.
There is a second S1 Report due next week (this is for the students who’ve just moved today into S2). There was also a parents’ evening in February.
Through S1 to S3 we schedule reporting periods, including written and on-line evenings, every 3/4 months. S1 to S3 is the expected timeframe for students to move a Curriculum for Excellence level so this is a good frequency to assess progress.
Also, if any parent/carer is worried about their child, including their progress in learning or wider development, they can reach out to the relevant Student Support teacher at any point during the year.
