My Question | Comment | Suggestion related to the school this week is: | HT’s Response |
is there a chance you could do a headshave charity foundation thing in school this week. my son Adam and all his friends would also like to volunteer for this as well. | A bit pointless for me! Ask Adam to come and see me to discuss. |
I am writing to communicate that I am dissatisfied to read that learning and teaching will be further interrupted by senior leadership & student support staff next week due to further uniform patrolling. In my opinion the classroom is a space where learners should feel safe, engaged and motivated to learn. Being interrupted during class, inspected, judged and questioned about what they are wearing does not meet my approval as a parent. I also feel like there is a huge power imbalance, which does not comply with the school values of respect and kindness. My suggestion is that staff strive to see the child within and consider more meaningful and supportive initiatives that benefit a greater proportion of students. I hope that my views are met with consideration and I trust that I will hear back from you in kind. | We carefully consider how we monitor uniform compliance. Uniform itself is a bit of a polarised issue with our community, as staff, students and parents/carers have a broad range of views on the topic. In terms, of monitoring we do not anticipate classroom visits to be intrusive. The visits will be short and in the spirt if our values. We approach the issue from a ‘how can we help?’ perspective. |
Is there any updates on when permanent bus passes will be issued to those from Loanhead who were missed originally. My daughter has had three temporary passes already and each time has been told that her pass will be ready but is still awaiting her permanent pass. Have the transport department given any indication as to what the issue was this year, which left so many Loanhead young people without bus letters or passes? | Not really I’m afraid. We are in regular contact with the travel team and requested an update this morning we still have a number outstanding. |
