My Question | Comment | Suggestion related to the school this week is: HT’s Response
I was disappointed to hear the kids weren’t allowed to dress up for Halloween, only the teachers were allowed? I understand the concern that it may be a distraction for that 1 day but at what point do we decide it’s more important to teach kids not to take themselves too seriously? What age do we expect them to stop being kids and seeing the funny side of things? Something many teenagers could do with. Our day was organised by our S6 School Captains.  S6 students and staff were encouraged to dress-up.  Most did.  Unfortunately I didn’t manage as I had too may meetings with folk from out with school and didn’t want to scare them!  Our senior team have discussed whether we open it up to all students but plan to keep it as a S6 ‘privilege’.  It’s become a strong part of their final year experience.  I do agree young people do grow up too fast!
