Key messages from this week  

Calendar:  Significant events week beginning 31.08.26 – Battlefields Trip (30.08.26 – 04.09.26); Ski Trip Ben Nevis Challenge (04.09.26 -06.09.26); UCAS Assembly(01.09.26) We hope all of our students taking part in trips this week have a wonderful time.

Staffing: On Monday, we welcome Paul Chapman as our Science Technician. To support the school whilst I act as Head Teacher, Angela Wallerstein PTC Science will be taking a role as Depute Head. In turn, Robyn Taylor will have some additional duties as a Principal Teacher of Science. We currently have no vacancies live on MyJobScotland.

Photographs: Student photographs were taken this week and students have each been provided with order information. This information sheet provides you with the instructions and unique reference required for you to register to see your child’s portraits.  You’ll need to register at www.UrPix.co.uk to see their photographs. Please keep your ID private. There are offers for ‘early bird’ orders, including free photographs. Once you register UrPix will keep you informed of progress, as it will be a few days before everything is online.

Parent Council: Please check our dates for upcoming Parent Council Meetings. Our first meeting is in person, at Lasswade High School, on 22nd September 7-8:30pm. Most other meetings are online. You can find out more about getting involved here. We’d be keen to welcome new members – so if you’d like to find our more please get in touch with Sara and Alison – fundraising.lhs@gmail.com

NHS Flu Vaccines: Consent forms have now been issued to all students for upcoming NHS Flu Vaccines. Forms should be returned by Monday to the school office.

Google Guardian: We are in the process of moving our S1 contacts into Google Guardian. We will let you know as soon as this is complete. Thank you for your patience with this.
