Key messages from this week

Calendar: Key events in school next week: Monday is the Coronation Holiday with the school closed to students and staff;  on Tuesday and Wednesday it is our S3 DofE Bronze Extra-Curricular Qualifier; on Thursday we’ll issue our S2 Full Report via email

Staffing Update: This week we offer our congratulations to Ruth Watson, our Business Manager, who has secured a new position and will be leaving us on Friday 9th June after over 19 years of service to the school. On Thursday we say goodbye to Julie Nisbet, Creative Learning, who is leaving to take up her new post with the SQA.  Good Luck Julie and thank you.  Congratulations also to David Hunter who secured the permanent position of PTC ASN and Inclusion.

Safeguarding: You may have seen recent publicity around under-reporting of bullying in Scottish schools, click here  At Lasswade, we use the Seemis Anti-Bullying Module to log bullying incidents and these are monitored for trends to support interventions.  If you become aware of bullying incidents, please do not hesitate to raise these with your child’s Student Support teacher.  This allows us to investigate further and take actions as appropriate.
