This concise weekly HT Update is generally published every Friday afternoon.  It’s a simple opportunity for you to also feedback/ask questions via the link at the bottom of each Update.  Any feedback received will be responded to and published on Monday afternoon on the school website.

Key messages from this week  

Calendar:  Significant events week beginning 24/11/25;   on Monday it’s our Parent Council Christmas Fair;  on Tuesday it’s our S2 to S3 Course Choice Information Evening,  see below;  on Wednesday our Foundation Apprenticeship Hospitality students are out on a trip, we’re facilitating Flu Vaccinations via the NHS and it’s our S5/6 Student Parent Consultation Evening, see below;  on Thursday the Flu Vaccinations continue and it’s our S5/6 Winter Ball;   on Friday it’s the November Dress Down Day and we’ve Mandarin staff and students attending the SCEN Youth Summit.

Staffing:   Congratulations to Annie Rankine who’ll step up as DHT from Monday 1st December.  This ‘backfills’ Mrs Brown’s post given her current Monday to Thursday work pattern.  Lucia Rodriguez-Romera started with us in the Creative Design department this week and will cover Abby Cairney who leaves for Maternity leave today.  Best wishes Abby.  Jemimah Martinez joins us in the Mathematics Team on Monday.  We have no posts currently live on myjobscotland. 

S2 to S3 Course Choice Information Evenings:  This on-line event takes  place on Tuesday 25th November.  It is aimed at parents/carers of current S2 students. Please click here for more information.

Christmas Appeal:  Each year our staff and students come together to support young people and families. We launched this earlier this week and need your help.  Please click here  for more information. 

School Photographs:  ColdwellsArt.co.uk  have asked us to let you know that the ‘Final Call’ deadline for School Photography orders is Monday 1st December to make sure they arrive before Christmas. Photo proofs have been distributed previously, if you haven’t seen these yet please check with your child.  If you don’t have them, please get in touch with Coldwells info@coldwellsart.co.uk  Thereafter, fill in the details on your photo proof, add the payment and pop everything in an envelope labelled ‘Photo Order’ and hand this into Student Reception. Coldwells will ensure everything is delivered back to the school. If you prefer you can call them directly 0131 663 1203.  

Lost Property:  We have a large amount of lost property at Student Reception.  If your child has lost anything, please ask them to check at reception by Friday 28th November.  Unclaimed items after this date will be ‘rag-bagged’ or disposed of. 

Extraordinary Parent Council Meeting:  Reminder  Following the recent parent Council AGM a couple of matters requiring attention have emerged.  This is necessitating an extraordinary meeting tonight Friday 21st November.  Click here  for more details.
