Staffing: This week we welcomed Sophie Irvine as a new Learning Assistant. Sophie will be working within the POD. We have no posts currently live on myjobscotland.
Google Guardian: Following last year’s successful pilot of Google Guardian all of our S2-S6 years groups now have this feature enabled for parents/ carers who opt in. Over the next couple of weeks we will roll this out to our S1 students. Information will be sent to all S1 parents/carers on Monday about this aspect of Google Classroom, which allows parents to have a weekly overview of assignments and classroom work set through Google Classrooms.
Student Action: I was absolutely delighted to hear about and meet with two of our students this week. Grace in S1 and Poppy in S2. These girls had taken decisive, mature and empathetic action in what must have been a stressful, health related context to support an older family member. Their calm and responsible action may have been life saving. These girls are a credit to their families and we are proud they are part of our school. I am privileged to lead our school that contains many ‘Grace’ and ‘Poppy’ characters and know that you recognise that too. Please, as parent/carers, continue to keep us informed about actions such as this. We’ll respond to offer our praise and thanks.
Creative & Cultural Showcase 2025, Thursday 13th November: We would like invite all parents/carers to our annual Creative & Cultural Showcase celebrating the hard work and creative skills of our students. Doors open at 6.00pm for our exhibition, featuring a wide range of student work from creative subjects. This part of he event is not ticketed. From 6.45pm we’ll hold a media show reel, dance performance, fashion show and awards ceremony in the Assembly Hall. This part of the evening is ticketed, via ParentPay. Change of Date: Please note our Christmas Fair will now be held on Monday 24th November. Our School Calendar, available on the website, has been updated. Ignore my message on Friday 10th October!
Parent Council: Our second meeting of the session will take place on Thursday 30th October. This meeting is via Teams and we are keen to see as many parent/carers there as possible.
