This concise weekly HT Update is generally published every Friday afternoon. It’s a simple opportunity for you to also feedback/ask questions via the link at the bottom of each Update.  Feedback received, where appropriate, will be responded to and published on Monday afternoon on the school website.  

Key messages from this week  

Calendar:  Significant events week beginning 02/12/24;  our Senior Phase Assessment Window 1 continues all week;  on Monday our S3 Student Voice Year Council meets; on Tuesday Tree of Knowledge return to work with S3s and there are S2 and S6 Student Voice Year Council meetings;  on Wednesday and Thursday we’ll facilitate the flu vaccination programme;  on Thursday we aim to issue our second Senior Phase Report, there are also S4 and S5 Student Voice Year Council meetings and it’s our Christmas Fair from 6.00pm led by our Parent Council,  finally;  on Friday it’s our S1 Student Voice Year Council meeting  

Staffing:  On Monday we welcome a new teacher, on a permanent basis to our Creative Design Team.  We’ve ‘re-signed’ Rebecca Hardie who returns to the school as Teacher of Art & Design.  

S2 into S3 Course Choice Evening:  A huge thank you to all of our parents and carers who were able to attend our online S2 into S3 Course Choice evening earlier this week. Lasswade High School Childcare Service:  As you may be aware the school runs a childcare service.  In partnership with Midlothian we are consulting on a proposal to close the service.  The consultation opens today, Friday 29 November 2024 and closes on Friday 24 January 2025 and Midlothian Council are seeking your views.  You can find more information, such as the consultation proposal document and online survey, at https://midlothiancouncil.citizenspace.com/education/lasswade-hscs-consultation
