Monday 27th May 2024
On Friday 31st May, there will be a dress down day in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which supports those living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). MND attacks and damages the nerves leading to loss of muscle mobility and paralysis.
The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by MND. They fund grants and give sums of money to associations who support individuals and families living with MND. If you would like to know more about their work please follow this link.
We have chosen to support this charity at the end of May as one of our first year pupils, Bradan Cowan, is honouring his aunt who is living with MND by walking a marathon around some of her favourite places in Edinburgh on 8th June. At the same time his sister who attends Bonnyrigg Primary will cycle the distance. So far they have raised an impressive amount of almost £5500. You can read more about their story here. At Lasswade we wish them all the best with their fundraising efforts!
The Charities Committee will be at the front doors and playground doors with buckets to collect donations. ParentPay is also open and available, if families would like to donate online. It is not necessary to contribute towards any dress down day.
