Edinburgh College: School/College Partnership Delivery

Friday 17th December 2021

Please note we are sharing this important message from Edinburgh College concerning School/College Partnership (SCP) delivery.  Please note that Borders College and Foundation Apprenticeships are not affected.
‘As you are aware the escalating Covid -19 situation and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant is causing national concern.
Government guidance to Scottish Colleges and Universities is different from guidance for schools. As a result the college has been asked to cease on campus face to face teaching until the 24th January. Therefore, the decision has been made to deliver SCP classes through online teaching from Monday 10 January 2022 until 24th January (to be reviewed).
SCP pupils remain a priority group and we plan to resume face-to-face, on campus teaching as soon as it is safe to do so. We will continue to monitor Government and Public Health guidance and any changes will be communicated  as soon as possible.’
Lasswade High School students who attend college campuses on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon  will be able to work in school in the open plan area using their Chromebooks on the first floor or, if over 16, can sign out and work from home using their Chromebooks. Lectures will continue online via Microsoft Teams. All SCP pupils will receive an email with instructions on setting up their online college account and will be supported by the Schools Team.
Students and our staff can speak with a team member on the SCP helpline 0131 297 8649 if they need any support.  It is crucial that, in order to achieve their qualifications from Edinburgh College, your child must continue to fully engage in all work and online sessions set.
