Return to School: Public Health Mitigations

Thursday 8th April 2021

As you are probably aware the First Minister confirmed on Tuesday 6th April that following the Easter Break all students are expected to return on a full-time basis.   For our school this means a return on Tuesday 20th April.  The only exception to this is students who are shielding who should return on Monday 26th April.

This is excellent news and we hope that in-school learning will remain in place for the remainder of the current term and beyond.

As expected with the return of all students the 2m distancing mitigation has been removed.  However, a range of other mitigations are in place to help keep all students and staff as safe as possible.  Please note these mitigations will also apply to week 2 of our Easter School, i.e., from Monday 12th April.   Our principal mitigations are listed below

Given the need to re-adapt to and comply with public health and hygiene expectations we recognise in these initial days and weeks we will need to successfully re-establish routines.   This will help build a high level of confidence in our stakeholders to demonstrate we have secured a safe and sustainable return to school.  Given our August to December 2020 experience we expect to do this quickly.
