Wednesday 17th February 2021
Following on from our post yesterday we are now able to share some additional detail with parents/carers and students regarding our Senior Phase provision from Monday 22 February. This provision will allow students to complete essential practical work for SQA courses.
We will organise in-school sessions through a column-based model. Two sessions per day from Monday through Thursday and one on Friday. Each column, and therefore practical subject, will have at least one extended block of time in which students can access an in-school experience for essential practical activities throughout the week. Please also note that for our Senior Phase we will adopt a one week timetable model, Mondays will be the same each Monday as we move forward etc. (please note that the two week model remains in place for Broad General Education students). No more week 1/week 2 confusion for Senior Phase students, who when not in school should continue to engage with learning remotely. The overview of this model can be accessed via the link below.
Please note that the numbers in each day for each session may vary slightly on a weekly basis. Class teachers will communicate with students via their subject-specific Google Classrooms to provide the detail of the date/time and room number of in-school attendance. This is how individual students should know when they are expected to be in school.
For those who rely on School Transport, services will run at the normal school times. A Hub provision will be on offer for those students who require it, should they be in school between transport times and practical subject sessions. We are also able to provide bus tickets to allow those who, for example, may finish at 12.00pm and could travel home by public transport. Members of our Senior Team will manage this process with students.
Based on the First Minister’s statement in Parliament yesterday we are expecting that these arrangements are likely to be in place until Friday 12th March. We will of course respond quickly to updates from the Scottish Government and expect the next statement to be provided by the First Minister on Tuesday 2nd March.Tweet  Share on Facebook
