Statement on Disengagement from X

Thursday 6th February 2025

Following a thorough review with our staff, and including consultation with our Parent Council this week, Lasswade High School has made the decision to disengage all our X accounts for the following reasons:

1. Alignment with School Values:  Lasswade High School is dedicated to nurturing an inclusive, progressive, and student-centred environment. Upon review, we have concluded that disengaging from X is the right decision to ensure that our partnerships and activities fully reflect our school ethos and the expectations of our students, parents, and staff.  Our values include Kindness and Respect.  X seems to fly in the face of both. 
2. Effective Use of Resources:  We strive to allocate our time, staff efforts, and financial resources in a way that maximises positive outcomes for our school community. Continuing engagement with X is not the most effective use of these resources at this time.  We will focus our social media efforts through Instagram and continue to post regularly on our website.  

This decision was made with careful consideration and in the best interests of our school community.  All our LHS X accounts will disengage over the next few days.
