Thursday 13th June 2019

On Wednesday June 5th there was an opportunity to celebrate some terrific achievements from The John Muir Award and the Duke of Edinburgh Award groups respectively.

Students of both groups were heavily involved in the production and design of the award presentations, and they were joined by Ant Mayer of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Outdoor Learning instructor Sean Fallon and Learning Assistant Maggie Seganova.

Peter Moir, who was in attendance from Duke of Edinburgh Scotland, remarked on the excellent speeches given by the students. One student commented that as a result of their experience they “are more resilient than they ever knew before.”

During the John Muir Award ceremony, Head Teacher Mr Hornell spoke of how hard the students have worked to gain their respective awards, and how proud Lasswade High School is of their achievements.

Well done everyone.
