Covid-19: What are the plans for our Key Worker Hub?

Friday 20th March 2020

As I communicated last night, we will host a Key Worker Hub for Midlothian Council.  This Hub is aimed at young people in S1/S2/S3 with parents/carers who are ‘Key Workers’.   Midlothian has defined these Key Workers as those in;  Emergency Services, NHS, Health and Social Care Partnership including Care at Home, teachers and council staff who have requested assistance with childcare in order to ensure that we deliver critical services.

On Monday we will provide this service from 9.00am until 3.30pm.  We have staff ready to provide a programme and will communicate this directly with the young people, and their parents, who attend.

On Monday school staff will provide this service as we continue to engage with our partners to extend the service.

If these young people are not Lasswade High School students, we will require parents to ensure they leave essential details;  contact, health requirements etc.  In this case it will not be a straight ‘drop off’ on Monday so please build extra time (5/10 minutes maximum) into your schedule.

In addition, we cannot guarantee that catering facilities are available so it would be best if you ensure your child has food appropriate to their needs.
