Senior Phase Prelims

Tuesday 23rd January 2018

The main focus of our Senior Phase students since our return after the New Year has been our Prelim Diet.  This began on Wednesday 10th January with N5 History and concludes at the end of this week with Advanced Higher Mandarin.

Invigilation staff have been working with Ross Shields, our SQA Co-ordinator to plan and organise the diet since well before Christmas.  To date this has proved successful with a well organised series of exams.  Our invigilation team meet with Mr Shields on a daily basis and have been reporting on the excellent attitude of our students as they complete their exams.

For our S4 students this is their first experience of sitting a diet of formal examinations. This opportunity will allow all students to test their progress against national expectations.  Staff, currently buy with a heavy marking schedule are already beginning to feedback to student on their results and areas they need to improve upon.

We encourage all students to reflect upon their performance and seek to learn for the final diet that takes place in May 2018.

Mr Shield has committed to attending the February Student Voice meeting to hear the views of Senior Phase students and will hear directly from others as well as staff on their experience and views.  This is part of our on-going improvement agenda.
