Blended Learning: Wednesday 2nd March

Monday 28th February 2022

It is with regret that I am confirming we have secured agreement with Midlothian Council to move almost all S2 students to ‘At-home Learning’ on Wednesday 2nd March.  As stated in previous communications we are advising parents/carers as early as possible to allow them to plan arrangements around childcare.  As all S2 students have been issued with Chromebooks we are confident their learning can continue at home.  Work will be set via Google Classrooms.

All S1, S3 and Senior Phase students should attend school as normal on Wednesday.
This action is necessary as we are experiencing a high level of staff absence which is impacting on our ability to safely cover all classes.  By the end of today, given our level of teacher absence,  we will have used almost 50% of our ‘cover pot’ for the week.
Staffing levels remain ‘fluid’ and this is the reason we are only confirming things one day at a time. We will continue to monitor our staffing levels closely and are currently worried that we may require an additional day on Friday of this week.  If we do it is likely that will be S1.  We will confirm that on Wednesday at the latest.
