Friday 19th February 2021
Thank you again to all of our students, parents and carers for your engagement with remote E-Learning this week. At this point we would like to update you about some changes we need to make to our remote learning from next week. This is to accommodate Senior Phase students returning to school to complete practical work.
From the 22nd February, we will follow a broadly weekly timetable for Senior Phase students based on the columns in which they take their subjects. This will allow students to both work ‘in school’ where required for practical work and also continue to access Live Meets for non-practical subjects. Subjects with time in school to complete critical practical work will also reduce the work set remotely to take the time students are working in school into account.
All teachers will communicate the revised times for working in school and Live Meets through the subject Google Classrooms. In a very small number of cases there may be an overlap. Unfortunately due to restrictions on numbers in the building, this is currently unavoidable. In these cases students should prioritise ‘in school’ learning and make their teachers aware so that Live sessions can be recorded and reviewed later.
Students in the Broad General Education should continue to broadly follow their two week timetable. The return of some Senior Phase students to school to complete critical practical work for their SQA qualifications will have some impact on our remote learning provision for S1-3 students. Practical subjects will continue to post work to our students in S1-3, but please be aware that these teachers will also be undertaking work in school and will have reduced capacity to respond on-line.
We are continuing to extend the range of subjects offering Live Meets. Please encourage your child to attend where possible. These Live Meets are not only a learning opportunity, but a chance for students to benefit from interaction with their teachers and peers. All Live Meets are now set as Assignments so that they appear in each student’s ‘To Do’ list. Live Meets for S1-S3 will continue to take place during times on the normal two week timetable.
If you have questions about remote learning, please contact us on the e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to help.Tweet  Share on Facebook
