Susan Begbie: Updated Funeral Arrangements

At the request of the family please note the following update to the arrangements outlined in our original website post.

Update:  Please note that the service is not solely for Susan but also for her mother who died only 36 hours prior to Susan.  The family remain happy for those who knew and loved Susan to attend but wanted all to be fully aware of the funeral arrangements

Many in our school community may be aware of the recent and sad passing of Mrs Susan Begbie.  Susan joined our school in January 1980 and worked in a variety of roles in Modern Languages, Guidance and latterly Creative Learning.  She retired in 2020.  She is, and will be, remembered fondly by many current and former staff and students.  Many of our parents/carers will also remember her perhaps initially when they were a student themselves.  She is undoubtedly a significant figure in the history of our school.

We have now been informed of the funeral arrangements and are aware that many in our community may want to pay their respects.  Susan’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 2nd March,  11.00am at Mortonhall.  The school will be represented by several of our staff, including members of our SLT and Senior Students.
