This concise weekly HT Update is generally published every Friday afternoon.   It’s a simple opportunity for you to also feedback/ask questions via the link at the bottom of each Update.  Feedback received, where appropriate, will be responded to and published on Monday on the school website.  

Key messages from this week  

Calendar:  Significant calendar events next week;  SQA exams continue all week; on Wednesday and Thursday we’ll have a number of students out of school related to their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and across both days on Jupiter Artland trips;  on Thursday our S1 boys football team are playing in the Scottish Schools semi-final,  best wishes to the team.  

Staffing:   Recruitment continues with our DHT Curriculum post being filled on the morning of  Wednesday 22nd May.  On this date we are looking for 2 or 3 parents to assist with this process.  This would involve being part of the short-leet interview panel.   If you would be interested in helping with this,  training will be provided, please feedback through the link at the bottom of this post.  

Students out of Class: We have reminded our teachers to limit students leaving class unless absolutely necessary, as we are experiencing increased numbers of gatherings and co-ordinated corridor disruption. This includes letting students out of class to collect a Chromebook, if students have forgotten their Chromebook we are asking teachers to provide paper and pencil for them to write on. We will continue to request that the parents/carers of students we know are involved in this behaviour come into school to allow us to seek their support in ways to maximise their child’s time in class.  

Public Health Scotland:: Public Health Scotland have shared a poster aimed at raising parent/carer awareness around infectious diseases and when you should keep your child off school.  It replaces Covid-19 Guidance.  Click here to access the poster.

School Uniform:  BE UNIFORMS – FURTHER REDUCED PRICE ORDERING WINDOW.  BE Uniforms have a further reduction in price for any 1/4 Zip Top orders received before 30th May 24.  Any orders placed between these dates will be at the reduced price of £25.30. After this time they will increase to £28.  If you intend to order 1/4 Zip Tops for the 2024/2025 school session please take advantage of this offer before prices increase on the 1st June.  For ordering information and details, click here.
